STUDIO MOON is an architecture and design studio in Trivandrum, India founded in 2021. Our investigations occur at multiple scales; from objects and interiors to residential and commercial buildings. Current work includes private residences, residential interiors, renovation – extension projects and commercial projects across Trivandrum.
As a studio, our work is process driven — combining spatial narratives, landscape, and materials to create projects that are responsive and carefully considered. Our approach is open and fluid — drawing inspiration from site, culture, environment and music.
STUDIO MOON’s architecture emerges from a sensitive understanding of the context; one where the evolution of design is firmly rooted in the region’s traditional narratives, while interpreting the elements in a modern context. There is an underlying acuity in the design approach, which responds to the site uniquely, rendering it relevant and timeless.
Founder
Vivek Daniel is the Founder and Chief Designer of STUDIO MOON. Vivek graduated from College of Engineering Trivandrum in the year 2017 and also acquired a Post Graduate Diploma in Interior Designing from JD Institute Bangalore in the year 2018. His Bachelor of Civil Engineering from CET and experience as Project Manager in various architecture firms solidified his career path in terms of architectural design and also on-site project execution. Being trained in western classical piano, he incorporates a distinct design approach that includes elements of music and drama in all his designs.
The main strength Vivek brings to his projects is a focus on effective communication. His desire is for everyone to understand the goals of the project, and he prides himself on making sure the entire project team is on the same page to ensure a good project – a great experience for the design team, the construction team, and the owner.
